Genetic and QTL mapping in African bermudagrass

Cynodon transvaalensis Burtt-Davy is frequently used to cross with C. dactylon Pers. in the creation of F1 hybrid cultivars that are some most widely worldwide turf industry. However, molecular resource development this species limited. Accordingly, objectives study were construct a high-density genetic map, and identify genomic regions associated establishment rate. In study, we constructed first linkage map for African bermudagrass using genotyping by sequencing approach based on 109 S1 progenies. A total 1,246 single nucleotide polymorphisms 32 simple sequence repeat markers integrated map. The length nine groups was 882.3 cM, an average distance 0.69 cM per interval. Four identified be sod results provide important resources towards understanding genome as well marker-assisted selection improving rate breeding.
